Field Trips
Walter A. Tucker State Nature Preserve, Blacklick Woods Metro Park – led by Cody Berkebile
This preserve is located within Blacklick Woods MP so it will be a short drive to the parking area, then a leisurely
hike along the trail. It will be the shortest field trip, with easy walking.
Shallenberger State Nature Preserve, Fairfield County – led by Dick Moseley
This preserve is located just west of Lancaster. It will be a 30-minute drive from Blacklick Woods and
will feature a 2-mile hike through the beautiful woods and sandstone geology.
Cranberry Bog State Nature Preserve, Licking County – led by Guy Denny & Jennifer Windus
This preserve is a small island on the north side of Buckeye Lake. It will be a 30-minute drive to
Buckeye Lake and a short pontoon boat ride to the island. We will walk on the boardwalk,
seeing various bog plants and discussing the role ONAPA has played in the bog meadow restoration.
Walk-ins are welcome but lunch options will be limited
Looking forward to seeing you there!
